Geometry PLC Agenda - 9/24/2018
  1. Tracking Standards - - Arlene made a spreadsheet. Fill in by Wednesday.
  2. Intervention - Who is running it? How will we determine who gets in and who doesn't.
  3. Quiz over angle pairs soon? Friday?
  4. Finalize test
  5. Get a plan for angle bisectors
  6. Construction for advanced?
  7. Backwards planning for transformations

  1. Tracking Standards - - Arlene made a spreadsheet. Fill in by Wednesday.
  2. Intervention - Who is running it? How will we determine who gets in and who doesn't.
    1. Starts Oct 11
    2. Need to have list by 26th
    3. Not behavior problem kids, intervention for kids who are in class and participate but need help.
    4. Could have a Math make up viking time where they make up work- Ask Katie if there is someone who could do that for the whole department.

    2. Vertical, alternate interior, alternate exterior, same side interior, corresponding
    3. Complementary and supplementary and linear pairs
  4. Finalize test

    4. Make study guide after finish test.

We continued grading quizzes & making sure we are being consistent across the board.
We discussed what is going on in classrooms through next Monday. 
      -practice parallel lines & a transversal & knowing the new vocabulary

1. Calibrated grading
Not all quizzed today but discussed the standards scale for each quiz! 
quiz grade goes Progression (out of 100), standard 1&2B go in Mastery out of 20.

2. Pacing/Planning for this week
Tuesday - hands-on activity of angle relationships, Desmos (alvey & hazel)
Wed/Thur - more practice on angle types; technology & a worksheet/google classroom
Fri - Hazel is out; continue practicing parallels & transversal

3. Don't forget to do makeups on vocab quiz

PLC on 9/12/2018

1. Check in on pacing/planning/where we are
Hazel will be out 9/21 & 9/24 so quizzing on Fri.
Lawson quizzing Fri. Alvey quizzing Monday.
Clark will quiz next Fri.
PLICKERS WERE AWESOME in Hazel's. ALvey will use them on Friday & show Clark how they work :) 

2. Make quiz for standards 1 & 2 part b (friday)
Alvey - formatting
Hazel/Lawson - dropping problems for Alvey to format
Clark - will modify when her kids are ready

3. What should we do with the data we get from quizzes next week & retake quizzes?
Retakes- change the Mastery grade, keep Progression grade
Discuss quiz grades on Monday/calibrated grading if not finished already. We will grade on a 4,3,2,1 scale!

4. Google classroom - let's try it!
All will try to use. Lawson says not sure when. Hazel & Alvey would like to do what LeRoy is doing ASAP :) 

**Clark left at 1:28 for another meeting so not sure if she will be using Google Classroom.

agenda things:
1) feedback from spreadsheet 
-Strikethrough the wrong answers, add up correct questions & put in FINAL SCORE column.
-NOt grading standards based - give raw score % out of 100 points in Progression

2) retakes for vocab? take average of the two? error analysis?
-standard grade will change in Mastery; the quiz grade in Progression will stay the same
-75% or below needs to do a retake; we will allow ALL to do the retake since we're using class time anyways
-differentiation for higher performers: writing assignment, HSA/IMA packet (needs to be made), OR desmos, or any other application problems
-ALVEY will make a copy of previous quiz as a retake & make a bit.ly link to do (FRIDAY??)

3) How do we want to put in gradebook
-Standard 1 & 2 "part A" as a grade in Mastery out of 20 AND quiz in Progression

4) google form fill in blanks better way to grade? 
-everyone agrees with using the "strike-through" method 

5) Pacing/standards?
-ALL (not sure about Clark) will have covered supplementary, complementary, & vertical angles by Friday.
-playdough activity in advanced for 9/6 & playdough in regular next week.
